Has it been that long? Part II

Have I really been that busy that I completely forgot about posting a blog or even checking other people’s blogs? I guess so. I didn’t realize until this past weekend when I saw Sarah looking at Trish’s blog that I haven’t even posted or looked at anyone’s blog probably since the last time I posted. The 7th of November! Sorry bout that! So much has been going on the last few weeks I sometimes feel that if my head wasn’t already attached to my body I’d misplace it somewhere.

We finally got our digital camera back. Kind of. The store called us and told us that the camera was unrepairable so they were giving us a brand new one. Hopefully I won’t have to take this one back in 2 months like the other. If you have IM and look at people’s away messages, you’d notice that mine, for about the whole week had something to do with painting. Don’t get me wrong, I love the $ coming in from the cornhole games and feel that God has blessed us in it and is supplying for our needs, but I’m getting tired of painting them all day, every day. I’ve also had a freelance project to work on last week and this week that has added to the craziness as well as working a few days for an auctioneer setting up the auction and working it last saturday. Now this week it’s back to painting again as we have gotten A LOT of orders come in and are due before Christmas.

Last week I had the opportunity to interview for a full-time graphics job in Dayton. I think it went pretty well. I was told that I would probably get a second phone call after Thanksgiving for a follow up interview with the Supervisor of the creative services dept. so pray that God would bless this opportunity and that it would be His will for me. Also continue to pray that the freelance opportunity would continue to go well.

Since I’m on the subject of prayer, please pray that the jr. high boys basketball team that I’m helping coach would pull together as we only have a two practices left before our 1st game and we look like we are about a month behind! It should prove to be an interesting season for us. I guess we’ll find out after our first game what kind of shape we’re in.

Well, I must be off to paint…. Sorry I hadn’t posted in a while and if this post seems more like a rambling from one thing to the next, but I just wanted to cram everything in without making it a novel. If I don’t get back on here before then, Happy Thanksgiving!!! Eat some sweet potato cassarole for me! I love that stuff. Especially with pecans in it!

I thought I’d pass along my favorite sweet potato recipe. You have to have the Savannah Cinnamon mix (that you can usually buy at most kitchen places - if you don’t know what I’m talking about you can go to www.savannahcinnamon.com) to make it, but it is DIVINE! Tastes like dessert more than a side-dish! Have a great thanksgiving!

    SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE

Mix together 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes, 1/3 cup Cinnamon mix, ½ cup melted butter, 1 cup milk, 2 beaten eggs. Pour into buttered casserole and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. For topping, mix 1/3 cup flour, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup coconut, 1 cup chopped pecans, 2 TBSP melted butter. Sprinkle mixture over sweet potatoes and bake another 10-15 minutes.
